My biggest fear about appearing on TV if the opportunity arose is the risk of making a fool of myself and in the days before social media and forums, if you appeared on say a gameshow and you stuffed up, it wasn't a big deal but now I imagine anyone who appears on these shows probably are advised to stay away from social media when their episode appears.
On the other hand, the opportunity to appear on TV is something many would jump at the chance at and in the past, I wouldn't have thought about appearing on a TV show but now it's something I want to do at least once just to say I've done it.
I've been seen in the gloom of the audience for The Weakest Link, twice.
Ditto twice in the audience for Golden Balls
The back of my head was seen in three different series of Who Dares Wins.
In crowdshot profile, celebrating Southamptons 3-1 thrashing of Aston Villa in December 2019 on Match Of The Day.
I believe i've been seen on a live OB in Stockholm on SVT. I certainly caught the 'red' on the camera when I was clearly in shot - alas no floor monitor to confirm my suspicions.
And I was interviewed about Brexit, on a quayside in Iceland by Ruv (British cruise ship in port, so plenty of low hanging fruit with pickings of various points of view from remain to leave!)

In the late 80s I was on Central News with my late mother when Princess Anne came to the village to open a new factory.
In the early 00s I was on Channel 4s "The Salon" and had a crack, back and sack wax on their late night valentines special. That was when it was filmed in Balham.
In the mid 00s I've been on a few shows as an audience member and as a contestant on The Paul O'Grady Show's Organ Game (was after the scandal and was plucked from the audience and plonked in the green room on one of their mobiles) and didn't win! But did get a Nodding Buster.
And more recently I was mic bombed in London during lockdown by some random international news channel asking my thoughts on Boris' plans.

I've been in the audience for Eurovision: You Decide 2018, as well as the last two Eurovisions. Also been in the audience at several Leicester Tigers rugby games.
I was on John Cravens Newsround in 1985 talking about Dartmoor letterboxing aged 10.
Got collared with my then partner for Westcountry Live in 1999- think it was about the upcoming then eclipse.
Was in the dark in the Weakest Link as well in 2000.
Also I think I've been on Greek TV (Zakynthos local news) when the fires hit Katastari in 2017 and I helped a good friend out with fire protection (waved a hosepipe around the ground for a day whilst the fires raged around)

I was once a contestant on live Channel 5 daytime gameshow BrainTeaser. Craig Stevens was hosting that day (he alternated with Alex Lovell, who now resides at BBC Points West).
I came 2nd out of the 4 contestants. The bloke who won had already been on various things, including Countdown. One of the ladies had driven for about 9 hours from Aberdeen (to Oxford, where the show was made at that time) only to be knocked out in the first round. The show subsequently relocated from Oxford to Bristol.
Only the winner got any cash prize. The other 3 of us just got a "goody bag" each (BrainTeaser pen, mug, etc. And a signed photo of host Craig! I gave the latter to a friend, who fancied him).

I appeared on an episode of Sky One’s GamesWorld demonstrating the old Videotron Videoway interactive service when I was younger. I was also on an episode of Take 2 and I think Newsnight demonstrating the same technology (I used to know somebody who worked for the cable company Videotron so I was their go to person!)
More recently I can often be seen sat in my season ticket seat at Loftus Road (Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium) when QPR matches are televised and a corner is taken in the corner of the stadium that I sit in!

For me somewhat ingloriously - or gloriously depending on your viewpoint - being shown in a brief shot in Channel 5's documentary about the supermarket chain Iceland. I was caught in a brief 3-5 second shot and people who know me are saying I'm "famous" as I have been on TV. If so to have a proper form of notoriety I need at least 14minutes and 55 seconds more please. But that is just it. Lame I know.
I asked a question on Question Time once.
One episode of Bergerac, aged 6.
One episode of Stargazing Live, aged 37.

I was on TV as a child for about 40 seconds and my voice was used once by channel 4 for about five seconds. 45 seconds of fame!
