You’d never know they were reporting on such a diverse city, looking at that plummy foursome

This month London Live launched a new programme on Saturdays at 7pm:
The World This week - "The London Live News team review some of the biggest global news stories of the week for an international city."

The pres is ... interesting. The main presenter shot is a bit North Korean, with Anthony Baxter in front of a blue curtain.
BBC1-style spinning globe on the astons. Nice to see them making a bit of effort though.

Effort? Its a head-scratcher. Why produce something that isnt needed. London needs to be covered. The main networks and news channels do a fine job. Its just a waste of "resources" to produce a programme that certainly isnt needed. When you have global city of millions that barely gets proper extensive television news coverage, except when it turns into a story of national importance. (ie the Grenfell Tower tragedy)

The blue curtain seems Big Centre TV influenced.

Wow. could that be a more boring broadcast. WIth a dry presenter delivery and a odd set up and seating position. Whats with the blue curtain? Why is he reading the script on the screen? The whole program is a big why?

The picture quality is truly awful, I'm watching the 6pm news live now for the first time in a very, very long time. The audio of the studio bit is about a second ahead of the picture and there's lines all over their faces when there's any slight movement. I swear the rest of the channel doesn't look as awful as this. What's happened?

The pre-recorded local newspaper review is still from the real studio and looks a lot better along with the sign-off from a different area of the real set. https://www.londonlive.co.uk/news/watch-...ebruary-2/

The picture quality on the local channel slot on the L-MUX is abysmal across the board, from what I have seen. Doesn't seem to matter whether it's locally produced material or the relayed sustaining stuff - there's a softness to the picture that gives Look North (Leeds) a run for it's money.
Online however, I have always been impressed about the picture quality that London Live are able to get. I am assuming they are still using the Nikon D4s with HDMI to SDI converter boxes that they launched with? If so, I'd say it's the one thing that LL got right. Up until a couple of weeks ago, they were still using their robots to provide a sweeping establishing shot at the top of the bulletins as well.

Anthony Baxter has left London Live for Global:
https://twitter.com/anthonysbaxter/statu...0050945024 Tanya Francis is the new head of news

Anthony had done some shifts on LBC News, so I'm not surprised he's heading back to a role that is a higher up the ladder than London Live.
Tanya Francis has been promoted to head of news.

Just amazed London Live has been going 8 years. I guess the news is the only original content now.
