Burnley have requested their Home match against Watford tomorrow is postponed.

Be interesting to see if they approve or make them play after the backlash the postponement the North London Derby has caused.

Postponement approved. I suspect it might be the last as the backlash is growing.

Given at the moment at least there are no matches scheduled midweek next week from what I can see you have to wonder why the FA Cup replays had to be sacrificed.

Indeed there are no fixtures schedules on the 29th/30th weekend either, whilst the following weekend is the FA Cup (5th/6th Feb). Are they having a Winter break?

Sort of. It’s an international break for all confederations expect Europe. So PL teams won’t play that weekend because they would be without many of their players.

The reason FA Cup replays were axed was where would the matches go if any fixtures got postponed.

There's an international break from the January 24th-February 2nd (so the week around the 29th/30th) for Asia, South America and North America (and AfCON) to catch up on matches postponned due to COVID travel restrictions over the last year or so, which is presumably why there's no Premier League. The EFL, SPFL and National League continue as normal though.
The PL is consulting in changing the rules regarding postponements and hopes to implement the new rules for the fixtures after the international break.

Seems they forfeited their right to the original match - the rearranged Liverpool match is tonight, and not televised in the UK.

UEFA are very much not keen for domestic matches to clash with UCL/UEL/UECL matches. If they have to use European midweek days, we'll probably see 6pm kick-offs on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
And looks like I was wrong - three (non-TV) PL matches tonight, plus one tomorrow (on Prime Video)
I've lost track of which broadcaster is owed what fixtures from the seven outstanding that are yet to be placed.

How will the unusual scheduling of the World Cup affect the EPL TV packages, if at all? I know, for example, AZPV often get a round of games early December, which now won't be happening - at least not at that time.

Amazon have a Bank Holiday round and a midweek round, and the truncated season will mean there will be a couple more midweeks next season, so there'll be plenty to choose from to designate as their round.
