Premier League 2021-2 Season - Television - BcastCornwall - 16-06-2021

The PL fixtures for the 2021-2 season were released this morning.

Notable that

Broadcast selections for the month of August will be announced by Monday 21 June 2021.

I am expecting just the contacted fixtures to be released with any extras depending on whether full restrictions will be lifted. As I've mentioned in the last season thread, I am aware that contingency arrangements for a continuation of the 'all' fixtures being broadcast situation are in hand.

Full fixture list. With Boxing Day on the Sunday I assume Amazon (or BT, can't remember which) will get the midweek fixtures instead.

Amazon have the midweek fixtures on the week of 30th November, and the midweek of 28th-30th December. BT get the other two midweeks.

Have heard a whisper that the contingency plan for showing all matches in August (Three Matchdays) is still very much alive, still unlikely imo but planning continues for now.

Sky to offer "over 100" of next season's matches in UHD HDR, including the first fixture (Brentford v Arsenal). Source

Any figures on the take up of UHD? Presumably doing better than 3D but not sure it is particularly on the wider markets radar.

Sky put me on a retention deal that involved me dropping UHD. Their suggestion and the only thing I actually dropped (and saved a large chunk of what I was paying for my trouble). I don’t miss it either.

I find Amazon Prime and Netflix TV apps have a better HDR picture than Sky Q provides
