So NBC News just started allowing network anchors who are fully vaccinated to sit together, per the new CDC guidelines announced yesterday.
The TODAY show... (Meanwhile at WNBC: "We're still working with our lawyers?") ![]() Early Today:

Local news usually has more union representation than the network level, I suspect it may be due to that. Looks like all the NY local stations are still maintaining distancing, though I suspect that'll change soon.

Here's the start of the first Today show after the social distancing rules were relaxed.

Having a hard break literally every few minutes must mean that interviews get cut off prematurely, etc.US TV is literally built around ads and it can really help with the structure of a programme in some cases and keep them flowing. If they went ad free it would probably feel incredibly slow and padded to viewers in comparison.

KSEE 24 - Fresno launched with a very very impressive set. This set could easy fit in a much larger market. Typically i dont like Nexstar sets, but they actually knocked it out of the part with this. The materials look fantastic, lighting is subperb and thought it has some natural materials....the dreaded and now over used stacked stone...its not over done and its lit very tastefully. The 2 story video wall behind the anchor desk is impressive. Unfortunately Fresno is not that impressive looking of a skyline to see. And of course the station still has awful graphics. But over all very impressed with this.

For the first time in a long time, everyone involved on Morning Joe has been in New York this week. I've always thought the show is at its best when it's a proper round-table discussion like this, so it's good to see.
I find it a bit odd that they use a Washington backdrop, but it's been that way for years. https://youtu.be/Yu7F_EdWGRM?t=41 https://www.newscaststudio.com/2021/06/0...io-return/

Morning Joe was coming from Florida way before coronavirus too with only rare trips to the roundtable in New York.

NBC has launched 'Today in 30' - a half-hour online show with highlights from each day's Today. There's a specially-recorded intro and closing link from the day's main presenters, and the graphics are based on the ones used for the Today All Day streaming channel.
Here's the most recent edition, which features one highlight from each of the show's four hours... https://youtu.be/SMeUVcE8OUA

Some studio changes are coming to MSNBC and CNBC US...
On MSNBC it seems Studio 3A is now out of commission until September for maintenance. Thank god I'm so tired seeing the heavy red and blue election vibes on air everyday~ The majority of shows from New York is now coming from Studio 4E or from home or from a small insert studio. https://twitter.com/kendisgibson/status/...3585440773 Oh and they've reintroduced the "MSNBC" brandings on the pillars and removed the "NBC News" logo/banners for Studio 4E. Seems like they want to separate itself from the NBC News branding once again haha~ ![]() On CNBC (not sure if anyone here watches it), it seems like starting from last week the majority of US business programmings is now anchored from the set for "The News with Shepard Smith" rather than the main studio in the newsroom (which has been in use for almost 10 years now)... Maybe a set refresh for the main studio?

Also, Early Today is no longer using 4E, so they don't need the NBC News branding for any actual NBC News output as far as I'm aware.

Studio is not shut for maintenance. Its been completely demolished. The entire newsroom and studio sections have completely stripped out and no longer exists. Its not being redecorated or new lighting. Its all completely gone. After being remodeled, updated numerous times over the years, after moving to Rockefeller Center in 2007 from the former MSNBC building in NJ they are completely rebuilding the studio. It will be interesting to see what NBC does with the next generation of news sets.
