My TV is, well, strange, I think the frame is too thick for the screen or something, and so I get about 1cm of the screen cropped off, so i just see three lines. Anyway, asked dad on the much better one connected to the Sky box and he says TTT (T yne T ees T elevision presumably). So maybe they're in some form of DR mode if they did fall off air this morning.
Forced overscan is a downside of some TVs with integrated tuners on SD channels/signals. While viewing an SD channel, you can try looking for the picture size / picture scaling / zoom option called something like "Just Scan", "Just Fit", "Exact Fit", "Full", "100%" or similar. Some TVs will have a separate option like "16:9 Overscan" or "Overscan" which you may be able to turn off.
On our Samsung MU series, we have to use the Sky box to upscale SD channels to 1080i otherwise they're always overscanned with no option to disable. Its integrated DVB-T2 tuner does the same thing.
