I've never gotten "angry" but I am repeatedly dismayed at how the world capital of popular music is represented by a broadcaster who phones in a token effort year in, year out.
Have the BBC ever really taken popular music seriously ?
They pretty much ignored it, until the government forced them to launch Radio 1 in 1967, which was (initially) a pretty pathetic effort to replace the outlawed offshore pirates.
They've never felt like the 'go to' place to consume it, even today ?
The lack of a regular popular music programme (like TOTP) is criminal, IMO.
