Britain Get Talking
#1
I don't watch Saturday Night Takeaway (but I have seen it!). I just saw a post on Instagram with what I assume was an intro to the show, with Ant and Dec talking about the Britain Get Talking campaign and how it had inspired 100 million conversations. I've had a little look around the old interweb but can't find much that is current, so does anybody know how this is measured? I know there was a thing about pledging minutes, and I assume it relates to that.

That answers that one then! ?

It wasn’t actually an intro to the show, it was coming back from one of the breaks. I know because I was in another room and wondered why they hadn’t played the back from break sting (yes I’m sad).

I know they’d advertised it as a general campaign but am too confused about the claims about having millions of minutes of conversation. I don’t recall there ever being something advertised to sign up to that?

There is an ITV Press Release about it today.

But not sure it gives you the answer you are looking for.

'research indicates that Britons have had 100 million new or more meaningful conversations as a result of the campaign'

Thanks both. It reminds of stuff people try to do at my work – spin one figure into meaning another just to get a headline. For instance, X number is equivalent to Y stadium. Yes, it is, but the original figure was talking about potential reach, not engaged people, so it's quite misleading anyway.

Thought I'd ask, and the answer seems to be as vague as I'd thought.
