Freesat

Apologies if this thread is misplaced; hopefully it's OK.

Today, a significant bug has arisen on Humax Foxsat and Gen 2 Freesat boxes. You can still record any programme which is on-air 'now' (ie at the time you hit record) but if you schedule a recording for a future programme, that recording will never happen, and eventually fails. Essentially, PVR functionality is almost useless on these boxes. I can confirm this is the case on our HDR-1100S, and reported by others on social media.

Not sure what's happened, possibly an issue with the EPG data?

Edited to add - just found out that this seems to be an issue with the flag used to enable accurate start/end timing on recordings. It's either not being sent correctly, or is no longer being recognised by Humax hardware. Changing the padding time settings from 'Auto' to a fixed interval of 2/5/10 minutes fixes the problem, but of course, results in less accurate recordings.

Exactly same 'fault' with my humax freesat box too. All my scheduled Series links failing.
Did a full power cycle yesterday with no luck fixing it, also did a full planner rebuild entering a new postcode as I thought it would download the whole epg data again including the series links, but still no joy.

Buy yes adding 2 mins padding time works, for the time being anyway.

Considering its been ages since Humax has made Freesat boxes, I would have thought the old software which hasn't been tinkered with for several years should now be stable and working!!

I did wonder if my Humax was about to die with this fault so glad it's just not me!!
I even browsed the shops for an Aris box yesterday thinking I might need a new one, but glad I can stay clear from that for now as the Aris reviews send shivers down my spine. More bugs than the I'm a celeb jungle I believe!!!

This issue has been acknowledged on the Freesat homepage - www.freesat.co.uk

The issue now appears to be fixed, even though the Freesat website still doesn't say so. Recordings working normally with the padding set to Auto.
