Just a guy who’s interested in TV Pres.

I can't wait to see how they implement the MG Alba symbol into the logo.

Yes - not overly familar with the BBC Alba idents but looking at them on TV Live just switching out the logo for the split design, like the other channels have done, isn't going to work.

This must be the standard format for a stripped/horizontal version of the logos with the BBC logo smaller than the channel name - there was a similar version of the BBC Three logo we saw on a trailer last week.

It seems a bit odd given the idents have the BBC logo much bigger. Either they want the BBC brand to be more prominent or they don’t. (See also channels’ social media logos).

That's an awful DOG, why is the ALBA bigger than the BBC, considering they want to push the BBC brand as much as possible? It also would look much better stacked, just like BBC Scotland's logo is stacked and how it looks on the idents.

Also, why doesn't BBC ALBA use Reith in their info pages shown during the daytime in the same way BBC Scotland does?

They haven't changed it since like 2015-2016 if I remember correctly. But yeah, it's in need of a change.

They'd surely have to place the "fat saltire" symbol in the centre of the screen, for the overall layout to work?

Alba has new countdown clock. New idents coming shortly

Yes. New countdown clock and going straight into CBeebies Alba, so I don't expect anything new until 7pm tonight.
They're both women and that trumps regionality; ITV guidelines

Looks like they might be going with the split look after all, although I have no idea at all how they'll be able to implement it with the current ident set...

I'm surprised that BBC Alba are ahead of/keeping up with the game for once, as it usually takes quite a little while for Inverness to catch up with everyone else when there is a BBC branding

Will An La look the same?

Yep, as news ain't getting any changed until next spring and An La is usually never a top priority by any metric when it comes to branding updates. Their set has been used since the channel's launch, the titles are still almost the same as they were over a decade ago, though there was a minor refresh when Reith made it to Inverness (around if not at) the same time as the NC, World News, the bulletins and regional news rolled it out
