Quote:Media regulator Ofcom received a huge number in complaints over the last year - the highest since it started in 2002.

The UK broadcasting watchdog received 142,660 complaints between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021, a 410% rise on the previous 12 months' total of 34,545.

They don't help themselves though when they publish a daily figure in the wake of a flashpoint event, although they have moved away from that. Have they adjudicated on the Piers Morgan issue yet?

I suspect that some of that increase will be because so many people were either WFH or on furlough and were watching more TV.

"The devil makes work for idle hands", so I think boredom created a few new keyboard warriors to pester Ofcom.
