Sky History new ident
#1
So apparently, Sky History has introduced an amazing new ident which isn't a rehash of the old History idents.
The red line concept has evolved in this new ident as it travels through different times in history.
Hoping they'll make more soon.

That's brilliant. Contender for best ident of the year?

Where are the aliens? Wink

But yes, a nice ident.

Have to say Sky still generally deliver when it comes to their presentation - far more hits than misses.

I did see that a week or two ago, but I didn't realise it was a new general ident, I thought it was a special one for the themed seasons they have... looking at Analog's website, there's a second new one as well (I'll add the link to the first one as well as it may be of a higher quality compared to Twitter).

Is it just me or do these idents look a bit like the 2010 idents for Channel One?

Still think these are excellent idents.

For some reason I thought that they would move away from the existing History logo once 'Sky History' had become established as a brand.

However, with these new idents, which are very nice, it seems they are keeping it with the red line of the animation aligning with the red separator in the logo in final form up.

These are great. Therefore I fully expect them to last for about 6 months before being replaced by something massively inferior, as is the Sky way.

They need to keep the History connection, as this channel is not a Sky owned channel, but (along with other A&R operations in the UK) a joint venture, although the management is mostly an A&E thing.

The same way something like Polsat Crime+Investigation, Polsat Comedy Central Extra etc. are in Poland

I hope there's more in the works. These are amazing.

Love these idents. The red line is a great element of the channel's existing presentation so seeing it implemented into a 3D space is pretty awesome.
