Seven years!
Amazing when you consider that Adrian & Christine lasted just over a year on Daybreak (purple gloomy era), and Lorraine & Aled only lasted a year and two-thirds (very very yellow era).
Despite a few tweaks here and there (and one very... let's say 'divisive' new signing in 2015 who recently left the show... who could I mean?), it's all remained relatively similar throughout that period, with Sean, Susanna, Ben, and Charlotte all still part of the presenting team seven years on, albeit not round the desk together as a quartet as per the 2014 launch). They seem to have found their groove with GMB and found a model they're happy with.

What I actually find more surprising is how long the presenters have lasted on Good Morning Britain, given how turbulent it was between GMTV closing and GMB starting. In trying to emulate the US morning show model a bit more, they’ve partly realised that you need stability to build an onscreen family, which means giving them time. It still feels like a confident programme, and the fact that it’s core brand, personalities (Morgan the notable exception) and format hasn’t had any sudden or unnatural changes has helped audiences feel comfortable buying into GMB as part of their daily routine, where an ever-changing programme makes audiences nervous. I think they’ve realised that making GMB a success in the long term means finding elements that can be built into a known quantity, rather than rethinking everything over and over again.
Good Morning Britain is what Daybreak should have been from day 1, and actually I think Adrian Chiles could have found success on the GMB format in a way he wasn’t well suited to Daybreak (though Christine Bleakley couldn’t have been involved in such a news-centred programme).

I think Christine has certainly found her niche now with Lorraine and Loose Women, and I would argue that she is the best deputy/No.2 presenter on Lorraine since Kate stepped down in the late 2014 ahead of covering Charlotte's maternity leave on GMB.

It's surprising that Ben has lasted so long on GMB but he's found the balance with two days on GMB plus time off to film Tipping Point.
Can’t believe it’s been that long! I forgot how round and animated the on-screen graphics were in the beginning. I do miss that voiceover as well.
Anyone else find Piers' departure a massive hole in the programme?
I really disliked him some of the time but now the show feels like it's coasting along like when it launched with very biege presenters.
They definitely need someone with more oomph, with more about them than the current bunch but not as self obsorbed as Mr Morgan.

No I don't find Pier's departure being a massive hole. I do think that the presenters are trying to be a bit like Piers and that doesn't work, they should be themselves. I do feel they need a decent anchor to work along Susanna, Adil is Ok as a one off but not regular.
In response to House above...I wonder if Adrian Chiles would ever consider GMB as a stand-in. You could imagine him being quite good on GMB- and most importantly being himself, whereas Daybreak tried too hard to be uplifting (aspirational title sequence, sun rising behind the presenters etc etc), which just isn’t his style.

Agree this format would suit him much better - and I think him and Susanna would be a stronger partnership than he and Christine were at breakfast time. Indeed I don't think partnerships that do well in one slot rarely travel well when they move to another slot on television at least, though it probably happens quite often in radio.

I did not expect him, I was thinking that May would have been split between Sean and Alex. It makes me wonder who will do the following week 2 weeks leading upto May half term

Ugh... this tweet has irritated me (and not just because of the use of emojis in a bid to look 'down with the kids').
"We can't wait for some fiery debates, don't hold back!" - Really doesn't bode well as far as I'm concerned.
From past experience, we all know what GMB mean when they say 'fiery debates': shouting, interrupting, not letting the guest give a response, generally putting the creation of a social-media-sharable spectacle above providing something useful... Was really hoping they were moving past this now that He Who Must Not Be Named has shuffled off in a blaze of ignominy.
I'll reserve judgement until I see him 'in action' but I'm not spending my mornings watching 'Good Morning The Jeremy Kyle Show' if they insist on continuing down that path. There's a reason I stopped watching GMB a year ago and only gave the show another shot again in the past few weeks... :|
