Rumour (maybe with some substance so I'll post it)
BT Sport and Eurosport in the UK Channels to rebrand in 2023 as
DisCover Sports UK (DCS) Channels to be known as DCS 1, DCS4K, DCS Extra etc.
Allegedly to slot with familiarity into the Discovery+ platform, we'll see.

Yeah, I wonder if they'll instead use the TNT brand (a brand that was owned by WB) like in America? Or create a new WB Sport brand?
It doesn't make any sense to tie into the Discovery+ brand as it'll presumably be rebranded when the American version merges with HBO Max. The Discovery brand should stay on the documentary channels only.
I’d really hope they’d come up with a better name than that, it’s almost UKTVG2 territory. But they’ll have a bit of time to get the branding people on it no doubt, now that completion of the deal is all but certain. Presumably they’ll run one season under the present branding and look to launch the new proposition next summer.

Thinking about what brands they own, I wonder if the HBO brand is worth considering. It's a name that carries a lot of weight in this country, though of course, really not a name you would associate with things like Premier League football.
Is that tied up with a license to Sky for the duration of the HBO deal? I know they’ve occasionally promoted Sky Atlantic as “The Home of HBO” in the past.
I don’t know why everyone is convinced they’re be using a Warner/Discovery brand, when it’s a 50:50 venture. I think they’re go for something abstract like DAZN that doesn’t favour either company. But if not I think it’s more likely that BT will buy out the naming rights and brand it EE Sport.

DSport is a far better brand than "DisCover Sport". Surely too Eurosport branding will remain somewhere within the collection of channels considering it continues worldwide, similar to how BT kept ESPN branding.

If you look at the detail of the deal, the JV seems to be just a stepping stone to BT getting out completely in the long run. It would seem unlikely then it will be a BT-owned brand they adopt. I think it will be a new brand, one we haven’t heard of yet, but hopefully one that doesn’t involve half a dozen syllables to pronounce.

I expect they won't want to commit to a new name until they have decided how they are going to merge Discovery+ and HBO Max in terms of branding, as Discovery may not be the headline brand they use in the end.

It probably won't be. The corporate brand uses the WB shield with absolutely no reference to Discovery's D globe logo. So it'll probably be Warner branded.
