BBC (Miscellaneous): 2021 Rebrand

There's clearly a bit a push on to get these new icons rolled out, I wonder why. I'm holding to my theory that April is going to see a bit more than just new BBC One idents and we're going to see the icons roll out on many BBC services on screen.

Bearing in mind we still don't have the iPlayer icon at the end of trails even though that has been around for some time. I'm thinking there's a switch to flip where all the icons are automatically added and animated.

The Sport app is much better than the beta News one. It’s so much easier to navigate with a clear menu structure. News needs a rethink I reckon.

I think CBBC and CBeebies needs to be fully rebranded despite will still have their globally-recognised logos, because 3-4 months after first reveal of the new presentation, we don't yet see the new logos of two children channels all time on-air.

Don't forget, giving that BBC Parliament, BBC World Service, and World News are sharing department with BBC News, they should at least receiving their new logos as well.

Yes, I’m really not a fan of the beta News app. Having all the main stories in a carousel strikes me as counterintuitive and poor UX design, as it effectively hides a lot of important content. I’ve switched back to the old layout in the hope that they might reconsider this before the new style is fully rolled out.

Sport now updated on android. So much better than the news app. Interesting too it now includes links to 5 Live and Sport Extra in the menu under the BBC Sounds banner.

Whilst iPlayer itself has been updated for a couple of weeks now, the thumbnail for iPlayer on an LG TV smart TV home screen has finally been reithed today.

I have the new BBC Sounds icon on my Android phone in the Republic of Ireland just now. Although the new BBC Sport icon has not appeared for me yet.

I also received a new update for BBC News a few days ago however it did not receive the new icon yet.
