Do you think? I noticed they didn’t say the show’s full title but I thought they’d abbreviated it because they had a lot of information to get across in the opening announcement!

I think having an announcer like himself is perfect, it's inline with the audience and doesn't feel too patronising like what the One, Two and Four announcers might end up doing to the Three viewers. Relatability works.
Also known as "Allanbuzzy" on other places.

The announcer's pretty decent. And good, it shouldn't be anything like what you normally hear on the other BBC channels.
No he isn't he's absolutely rubbish and terrible, it should've been Duncan Newmarch announcing.
I can confirm he isn't "absolutely rubbish and terrible". And no it categorically should not have been Duncan Newmarch announcing. You'll remember he and the other regular announcers were on the channel towards the end of its first life and sounded totally out of place. It is absolutely correct that they've got a new team for the channel.

I wasn't thinking that earlier, how many channels have launched twice as I can't think of any.

Arguably BBC 2 did (one day apart)

At this point, I feel like you're just some kind of elaborate troll considering some of the things you post on this forum. Give it a rest!

If BBC Three wants to be different and actually have young people introduce the shows instead of the veterans on One, Two and Four, then let them do it. I like to think of it as the veterans passing the torch to the future if they ever wish to retire.
We'll possibly see these new announcers on the other 3 channels soon in the future so give them a chance to hone their skills with help from the veterans.

No it doesn't work BBC Three has to have the same announcers as BBC One, Two and Four.

Listening to the channel launch on Radio 1 is an odd experience… the content hasn’t been designed for audio only, so for example the very visual coming up sequence announces “coming up” and then plays a backing track if you’re listening on radio. Not too sure I get the logic of it - makes sense sharing the music, but the in-between bits are a bit odd audio-only.

BBC Knowledge in the UK on 1st June 1999, closed in 2002, then relaunched in July 2007 in Singapore.

Sky 2 was also launched twice, in 1996 and 2005.

Errrm... BBC Three has never used the same announcing team as 1, 2, 4. (apart from super last minute schedule changes)

It was Lola Buckley and a Scottish bloke [Kieron Elliott] 2003-2009, and quite a few different people 2009 - 2016. But point is, it's separate.

A quick catch-up on The Catch Up, coming at the TOTH. Looks like it will be chroma-keyed.
