BBC Three
Robert Williams post_id=65971 time= user_id=993 Wrote:Thing is, despite all the cutbacks, the BBC website is still vast, and it must be a huge job to change every single logo on every single page. That said, it's a pity that more than three months after the rebrand, BBC Three is still the only channel to have had its schedule and programme pages updated with the new logo and branding.

That's nothing, however, compared to https://www.bbc.co.uk/schedules and on the titles of the schedule pages themselves, where you will find that several BBC Local Radio stations that amended their names two years ago, still have not been updated to the new names.

Interesting to see that BBC Three looks to be retaining its own bespoke website at all - it was only set up when the channel went online in 2016, and none of the other non-children's channels have had them for a long time.

I don't understand why the schedule pages exist as separate section of the website, surely they should be rolled in with iPlayer and Sounds respectively which already have their own schedule pages.

BBC3 also reportedly looking for their own soap:

I wouldn’t expect Colin Weston or Kathy Secker style in-vision continuity though if that’s what you’re hoping for.

Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Smile
Of course it’s not the first time BBC Three had IVC. It was brought in at the start of the last rebrand for BBC Three TV (before the transitional move to online) in 2008.

I don’t know what the most surprising thing is there, the fact that they used to have IVC or that they actually shown the infamously youth-orientated Dragon’s Den on BBC Three.
I don’t remember Dragons’ Den being shown on BBC Three!
Despite the nostalgia for it outside of kids TV in-vision continuity rarely looks good IMO.

I'm reliably informed THREE's continuity will be more of this style of in vision announcing..."but now on the BBC Three...."

"From today you'll hear some new voices when you're watching UTV, as for the time being we're handing over to our colleagues at ITV, but rest assured Julian and I will be back with you as soon as possible"
Gillian Porter, UTV (2nd April 2020; 5:59am)
True. Looking at clips it seemed commonplace on ITV regions into the 80s. Bar kids tv, the only other examples I can think of is The Core (it was still aimed at teenagers though) from Channel 5, ITV2 in their first year or so, the period on Channel 4 where they had a camera in the continuity booth, T4 - which felt like a bigger production than just a locked off camera and similarly the forgotten Destination Three that I’ve got lurking around my mind - I have hazy memories of it airing during the late evening hours on BBC Three, aired around programmes and had guests and games, I think Rufus Hound was one of the presenters and it was on around 2005.
Will there be some final tricons tonight on BBC1 from 10.35pm?

Yes, tonight is the last night of BBC Three on BBC One and the last night of BBC Three online only.

Thank you very much Spencer! My computer chose to commit suicide today, and I had to delete all my data, so it's very good to hear this!
