It's only 8th November, but Channel 5 are already running "Christmas Evenings" sponsors.

I mean, one of the Great! Movies channels (was it Classic?) rebranded to Great! Movies Christmas in September I think. One variant of Very's Christmas ad launched in mid-October (and after one week, the actual Christmas ad is driving me up the wall). It's been Christmas for a while as far as the telly's concerned.

No it isn't!
Until I see that Coca-Cola Christmas truck, I can assure you THAT'S when the hype for Christmas starts.

We have 2 music channels that have temporarily rebranded to Christmas music already too and have some movie channels. It gets earlier and earlier every year. Pretty soon they'll be temporarily rebranding before it's even Hallowe'en. I know of two houses in the town that have their Christmas decorations up already too. Absolute madness.

To add to Ricks post music channel Trace Hits changed to Trace Christmas in September complete with break bumpers with the big stars wishing you a Merry Christmas . Stars like Abz from 5, Sabrina from Mis Teeq, Lisa Maffia, Duncan from Blue, Kim from Kim and Aggie, Tulisa, the Cheeky Girls, Jo from S Club 7. I love Christmas but far too early yet in my opinion.

The day cannot be far away when Christmas music starts appearing in January in "preparation for next Christmas". That and cheap Hallmark TV movies set at Christmas. Actually the latter already happens, only without the Christmas theme.
Well Noddy Holder is set for another year, Slade apparently makes half a million a year from that song.

The are 12 days of Christmas - none of them are in November.

ITV Daytime back at Christmas.
They're both women and that trumps regionality; ITV guidelines

If people really crave having non-stop Christmas songs and the like, why are there not channels which operate all year round?
I'm happy to ignore them, as the Roy Wood song - "I wish it could be Christmas Everyday" sounds wonderful until the idea itself is put into practice. Viz comic did a great Big Brother cartoon of this, with the BB role played by the face of the Wizzard lead singer staring down on all. Woe betides anyone who uttered "...and a Happy New Year".

Scrolling through the DS Ratings thread the only thing I could find for ITV daytime last year was:
This Morning 2020-12-25 09:58:36-11:58:19 ITV1 1,979,000 James Martin's Saturday Morning 2020-12-25 12:01:00-13:55:56 ITV1 1,699,000 |
