New quiz from Channel 4, Deal or No Deal meets Golden Balls. Hosted by Craig Charles.

Producers love a Steal but I find it overplayed they somewhat devalue the rest of the show. I hate how Rolling In It often renders the first three quarters of the show redundant by having a contestant steal money on the final question.

This does look interesting though and Craig Charles should be a good host.

Why'd it have to be at 3pm? ITV airs game shows in that timeslot - it's going to clash with the new series of Lingo. Sad

There's no other slots it could feasibly go where it's not facing gameshows on ITV and it's unlikely they'll put Countdown on a break.

Exactly - Lingo is the least stable of the ITV triple bill.

I doubt it'll get more than one series like most new C4 daytime quiz shows in recent years.

P.S. How is Packed Lunch doing now? It seems settled in the slot now.

This is quite watchable and feels like a big money show for daytime. A few too many steals for my liking and I think fewer would be more effective but on the whole a neat format.

I feel like it'd be better in primetime rather than daytime, having said that, I agree with Brekkie, I'm finding it quite watchable.

Doesn't matter how good it is if viewers don't watch because ITV also airs game shows at 3pm. Maybe it should have been a primetime show...

I think we've got to stop thinking that channels shouldn't air shows in certain slots because other shows are airing. They need formats to take on existing hits and ultimately it was Tipping Point that forced viewers away from Deal or No Deal, so C4 is long overdue a bit of revenge - and though it did quite well during lockdown at the beginning of the year of all the ITV 3pm formats to take on Lingo is probably the most vulnerable.

In primetime people would probably just say it shouldn't air against the soaps - although C4 could probably get away with stripping a show across 8pm for a few weeks in a way the BBC and ITV wouldn't. It's a much bigger risk though - they'd rather it not find an audience at 3pm than risk losing viewers in primetime if it doesn't work.

Perhaps a primetime repeat on More4 or 4Seven (or even E4) would be worth while to give it a second shot at finding an audience but historically when C4 have tried repeating Countdown or Deal or No Deal in the early evening on one of their digital channels they haven't actually done that well. 4Seven is repeating episodes the next day at 1.30pm.

Channel 4 aired a primetime gameshow Quizness and it did horrendously

It depends on the show. Moneybags has the potential to be primetime because it's fun to watch people snatching at bags instead of them looking awkward and being behind desks. Quizness failed because puns and rhymes, however clever they are supposed to be, aren't what viewers want at that time of night, at least not on a major channel. It's partly the reason why House of Games Night has bombed on BBC1.

They tried a 7pm repeat on 4Seven for The £100K Drop when that was on in daytime on Channel 4 and that ended up being cancelled after a couple of series.

Didn't seem to be any mention today of it they'll show the missing episode or even put it up on All4.

The winner of todays show has posted a blog, including the questions in the final round. I thought the first question was the toughest of the lot really - a real 50/50.

Also noticed over the last couple of weeks the amount played for seems to have dropped a bit - though last week they let multiple high value bags go past them and out of play.
