The Simpsons in the UK
#46
What's even worse is that's how both Sky and Channel 4 treated Family Guy when it first came to the UK.... it's amazing there was anything left to show after the scissors.

Somebody on Mastermind had The Simpsons as their specialist subject.

Fancy not knowing Hans Moleman Productions presents Man Getting Hit By Football. One of the greatest Simpsons gags of all time.

Season 29 is premiering on Channel 4 from 22nd November and I've very surprised that they're airing Treehouse of Horror XXVIII in a 6pm slot. I'm just imagining the amount of cuts the episode will have...

Barney's film had heart... but football in the groin had a football in the groin.

Thank you! Makes a change to actually find out when they're airing a new season BEFORE it starts.

Do they air the "new" seasons in a block on consecutive nights or just work them in with the repeats over a longer time frame?

Five days a week until they air them all, then back to repeats.

I recall Sky aired the first series pretty much uncut (I believe it was post-watershed). After that.........blimey:

(Screwed The Pooch and Emission Impossible definitely the worst affected!)

Here's something interesting. Channel 4 airing a different Simpsons episode to what was scheduled. Original video by SuperLegendary.

Bit late but someone who is making a full list of cuts of Season 29 on C4 counted 6 cuts overall. The cuts will be revealed at some point in December.

I think the first season was broadcast in a 8:30pm timeslot. I was never allowed to watch it because I was about 8 years old when it premiered on Sky One. A few months ago, I found out about one cut on Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater (this cut on C4). The last 4 minutes were completely removed!

The monorail is ancient? I know the episode it was introduced in was pretty early on, but in-universe surely it's less than a year old?

I believe they announced before the episode it was a change to the advertised episode.
