Noticed they're doing the post match interviews on court now, rather than shoving a camera in their face after they go back inside (where the crowd can't see or hear it).

Glad that change has been made - the crowd being able to be part of it has really improved them

BBC One returning to Wimbledon at 18:30 for Andy Murray's match
The One Show trailed as being on BBC Two at 19:00. No idea what's happening with the regional news.

I've never understood why Murray warrants BBC One and a rip up of two channel's schedules, or Henman before him. It also screws up any recordings set.
I mean is it that hard to press buttons on a remote? Or just show the Tennis on BBC One regardless of who happens to be on, have a short switch for the regional news then have a combined general entertainment schedule on BBC Two and save a lot of aggro?

Especially in week one - usually it's from the third round onwards they play such games. Brits ranked higher than him have been on BBC2 or the red button all day, even when coverage was also on BBC1.
I thought they might put him on from 7pm tonight as their schedule is The One Show and repeats tonight, but dropping the regional news is ridiculous - although if they're all just doing a regional take on a day old sports story maybe nothing will be missed - well other than actual news.

In all seriousness though given the truncated bulletins yesterday for football, it's an odd move. But I still don't get it. They run football games or the Olympics wish no British interest on primetime One, why can't they do that for the tennis? Then everyone knows to go to One for Tennis, Two for the One Show, EastEnders, what's left of Holby, etc. Incidentally - with the One schedule bumped to Two on Monday, how was River City dealt with, or was it relegated to the Scotland channel?

Andy Murray match isn't on BBC 1 or 2 right now which seems odd. They'll have missed 40 mins of it by the time it comes on 1 at 7?
EDIT: Yes I know its on iplayer and red button but this is very unusual for the BBC to not put it on 1 or 2. Further EDIT: Okay its on 2 now... All is well.

It seems the BBC believe that this will be Andy Murray’s last Wimbledon and they want the coverage to be on BBC 1 when he is beaten and speaks afterwards. It remains to be seen if they’re right, Murray had yet to give any indication of his intentions.

Should have moved the match over at 19:00, not even the best in the world can win a 5-set match in 30 minutes, barring a retirement.
It should be an unwritten rule that no programme is broadcast before its slot because there will always be people who miss it. BBC Two has had to find a 30 minute filler before taking BBC One's programmes. I don't think it should be the job of the BBC to chase ratings, but: https://twitter.com/LiamHamilton16/statu...5703707657

They were hoping Dan Evans would be done before Andy Murray's match started but they overlapped by a bit, and you can't really leave a match that's a game away from it's conclusion. Had the Dan Evans match gone on past 18:30, I think they'd have kept it on BBC Two while joining Andy Murray's a few games later on BBC One.

Just to add to this, the matches on Centre Court - the ones most likely to be on BBC One - have a 20 minute gap between them (this was reduced from 30 on Monday), and if only they would be a bit more flexible and clever with the schedule, they could use those two slots for the news. |
