STV News at Six was presented by Sophie Wallace in the standard desk position rather than having her moving across the set.

Sophie seemed to be the backup presenter in the studio. John and Kelly Ann were at Hampden, but only appeared on the pre-recorded opening titles, and then the closing moments of the programme due to technical problems.

Could the Edinburgh studio be getting ready for HD since the news at 6 has been single headed from Glasgow recently.

Late STV News from Edinburgh in SD. Even the reports which were shown in 1080 at 6pm and graphics were all in SD.

Technically, she made her debut a couple of weeks ago, when John and Kelly Ann were meant to be live from Hampden but the live link failed, leaving Sophie to present most of the programme from the studio.
