I take the point about ‘it’s not a cooking show so why would they be good at cooking’ – yes, although I think all the tasks are proxies to observe other skills. For instance, that away day task saw a point of failure when half the team brought the guests back half an hour earlier than they were supposed to. That’s a lack of communications.

That bit was very odd though, if I'd gone to a catering company and agreed a price for £x per head, I'd have expected them to cook it too! How come they both ended up paying and doing it themselves?

A rather low key finale to end the series - not even an hour long 'You're Hired' (probably due to Peaky Blinders nicking the traditional Sunday BBC1 slot) and even Lord Sugar couldn't be bothered to turn up to that instead just doing a video link from Florida!

It always seemed odd to me that the final was on a completely different night to the rest of the series. You don’t tend to see that.

I think they only moved it to Sunday so it could be part of a big ‘winners weekend’ with Strictly and SPOTY. Moving it in March would have been for no particular reason

The last series didn't end on a Sunday either, and that also had a half-hour You're Hired as well.

Actually in the first schedule exchanges for this week, You're Hired was on BBC1 like it was then, but clearly they decided that the news at the moment meant it was important to keep the news in its regular slot. Different at Christmas, of course.

So Harpreet has won? Just as I anticipated. Well, at least that concluded a very disappointing season on a predominantly high note!

A lot of the tasks this year were the same basic idea - come up with a product, brand it, market it and pitch it. I guess this was because of the limitations of covid. Maybe they decided not to mix the candidates in a public area without increased risk to them (and therefore the process). The buying task was conspicuous by its absence (I believe Lord Sugar has often cited this as his favourite task each year). There was no foreign trip (unless crab fishing off Cornwall (was it?) counts). There was no mad selling at the end of the day at knock down prices to literally anyone who’ll buy their charcoal flavoured ice cream etc. It was good to see the TV Selling task back, but again, I guess this was a relatively controlled environment.

I am sure the production team worked incredibly hard under very limiting circumstances, but it didn’t quite have as many key moments for me this time. (Although “First Time F*** Dies” is something I shall always treasure).

Happy that Harpreet won. She was consistently the best throughout this series.

Agreed that a most of the tasks were basically the same type of thing - i enjoyed the task where they were selling products on a shopping channel which added something a bit different to most other tasks.

I agree that there wasn't as much variety this year but as Deejay says that's understandable. I don't think they do the buying a list of items task every year anyway, but that is a great one, as is the home shopping task, again that seems to alternate.

Lots of highlights though, and lots of moments that'll end up in clip shows and best bits - the first couple of episodes where the boys came up with stuff that looked like excrement spring to mind

From a forum perspective though, anyone else notice the massive Fremantle logo appear behind Kathryn in her presentation?
