What are everybody's views on the voiceover that's been on the titles for a few months? I'm generally intrigued, as I don't like it, I much preferred Dominic Green (even the lady from 2015 was better in my view), and I would like to know what everybody thinks after a few months of it.

If i'm honest I prefer the new one, at first I wasn't so sure but I think i've warmed to it, however I wouldn't be annoyed if we got Dominic Green again.

I’d welcome a new voiceover for sure. The current one just sounds off, with no authority and is really jarring.

I personally thought it sounded absolutely ludicrous at first. Like that typical "in a world..." Hollywood blockbuster film trailer voiceover. So deep and booming and so ill-suited to a 6am morning news and fluff programme.
The delivery has since 'softened' somewhat and I find it less jarring now, but I still much preferred Dominic.

Was anyone else Surprised to see Ben Hosting today? I thought that he wouldn't be hosting at all over the next 2 weeks

Yeah I totally agree, I still prefer Dominic's delivery as his tone provided authority without being over the top. The current voice-over is okay, the deep 'booming' characteristic I still feel it doesn't gel as well.

On a side note, I do like there's more a team atmosphere on show now, less about being Piers Morgan's rant of the morning.

I can't for the life of me why they changed the VoiceOver. Dominic Green's delivery and style suited the programme and theme tune perfectly - it had power. I'm not a fan of the new one.

Probably agreed to be in because Kate was absent due to husband coming home. He was a bit emotional this morning when he gave out the news.

Given today's devastating news, I wonder whether Good Morning Britain could broadcast tomorrow morning. It would seem odd not to have any coverage on ITV on the morning after His Royal Highness' death.

I have wondered this. ITV are going to have to put some kind of news on tomorrow morning, if I'm not mistaken - didn't GMTV air on the morning of Diana's death, which was a Sunday, so even though ITV now own the Breakfast franchise, there is a precedent.

I don't see why it shouldn't air tomorrow, or on any weekend. All it's replacing is the CITV block which could easily be moved to ITV 2

Yes not sure why anyone is comparing this to Diana… that was an unexpected, tragic death. Coverage of Prince Philip's death will have been planned and rehearsed for many years

And at the risk of sounding crass, news broadcasters would have been expected it given he was 99 and not in the best of health in recent years.

Probably because of the massive cost difference between all the resources (including staff) needed to produce a live news-based programme, versus simulcasting the output of another channel's various pre-recorded programmes?

The anticipated attractiveness (to grown-up audiences and advertisers) of the weekend breakfast slot must not tally with the cost of producing weekend editions of GMB.

The various pre-recorded lightweight chat/magazine programmes that sometimes occupy the final 55 minutes of the weekend breakfast slot (e.g. "Zoe Ball on Saturday/Sunday", or whatever it is/was most latterly) must be as much as is financially worthwhile.

I doubt that weekend editions of GMB would be worth it, not even if they were only 55-minutes starting at 8:30am. At least not live editions containing that day's up-to-date news.

Maybe, at a push, pre-recorded editions containing "highlights" from the preceding 5 weekday GMBs, with new linking material recorded just after 9am on Fridays? But would there be an audience for even that though?
