Euro 2020 (+1)

I thought that seemed an odd inclusion.

The graphics when showing the line-ups have some weird filter on the images of the players.

Don't like that at all.

The RTÉ studio used for tonight's game looks a bit dark. It has a darkish blue backdrop which is not too bad.

Edit: I had a post earlier which displayed the relevant information about RTÉ's coverage right up until the first break but it wasn't posted.

What happened to it?

What everyone's thoughts on the opening ceremony?

Looks like the BBC are using the official Euro 2020 graphics and not their own Reith hybrid version (apart from the score strap at the top left).

As they do they do for every Euros (and seemingly Workd Cups now) as they don’t have the option not to.

RTÉ have their logo in a bright blue box beside the live scoreboard & clock in the top left of the screen. It looks decent.

I assume other broadcasters in Europe & other parts of the globe would do the same?

Colours looked washed out is there some HDR to SDR conversion not kicked in?

Colour scheme on the graphics are strange as well both the official ones and the beebs.

UHD (via App on Pink Now Box) struggling a bit.
This should probably be in Presentation Pet Peeves really, but during half-time and full-time on the BBC; why must the bottom-left score animate on and off just to show a name aston?
Just looks better IMO than having the aston above the score. Talking of pet peeves though at least the (unnecessary) pre-match BBC Sport DOG is rather discreet, and they've avoided just using a hashtag.

I guess it’s something that I might have missed from the press releases, but it’s good to see the Euros in UHD on BBC iPlayer, device dependent of course. It’s almost reminiscent of World Cups and Euros from the late 2000’s as there’s a big BBC UHD DOG on the top right of the screen, akin to the former BBC HD channel.

How does this match look in UHD on iPlayer? Does it look well.

Also is this tournament being offered in UHD on linear TV in other parts of the world?

I think they’d just filled the stadium with haze for the opening ceremony, and it lingered longer than expected…
Gary and co around the desk looks a bit Loose Women-ish.
