Do the guys at Tipping point normally work around Ben's normal GMB days (Thursday and Friday). If so then I can probably see Ben returning to his old Thursday + Friday slot once the Easter Holidays are over

I think Ben quite often has a few weeks away around this time of year, I think this is when we have occasionally seen Richard Madeley & Adil Ray and even Richard Bacon doing a few Thursday and Fridays, although I think Charlotte, Ranvir and Kate have also filled the gaps too. And Ben has appeared on his usual Thurs/Fri sporadically when schedules allow. I imagine over the next few weeks, Ben may be absent for at least some weeks, so bringing in Adil will allow Mon-Wed to be a bit more stable.

I do think Adil is the most likely option for a permanent successor the way things stand. I do think (as I said on TVF) that they’ll need a male host to keep gender balance across the whole show.

I imagine COVID protocols might not make this possible in any case.

What makes you say that? Would the travelling between 2 studios he discouraged in the current climate?

If so, this surely means Ben will be away from GMB for a good number of weeks until he has a week off Tipping Point recordings?

Ben filmed a series of Tipping Point under Covid protocols last year so I assume it'll be the same now.

I’ve just noticed something...

Above the video wall, there is some new lighting. I presume this was added at the same time as MegaDesk™?

It can be seen in the wide shot of the desk in the video above. Certainly wasn’t there before!

Yup, that's right. The blue & yellow lights above the video wall were a recently added part of the minorly refreshed studio alongside the new desk. They weren't existent beforehand.

I wasn't watching this morning. Is this just a video that Erron's had produced for himself/other purposes, or did it appear on air at any point ?

How did Andi Peters go from promising TV producer post Live & Kicking (responsible for launching T4 and revamping Top of the Pops) to the GMB competition guy?

Because it’s his production company who make the competition trails for ITV (as revealed by Piers on GMB), so I imagine that he hires himself to present the ITV Breakfast vts.

Nice work if you can get it! Judging from the fact he lives in Richmond, he's not short of a few bob!

Plus, maybe he just likes being in front of the camera as much as being behind it?

Ultimately he's a telly geek. Clearly loves what he does and you can't knock him for that at all.

Didn't appear on air, think it was just produced for a bit of fun. Rather slick, much like GMB's presentation in general lately, with the smooth sweeping shots around the new desk.
