Yes, tonight is the last night of BBC Three on BBC One and the last night of BBC Three online only.

It means that all BBC Three programmes that aired on BBC One will soon moved to the relaunched channel. We will miss Fleabag, Normal People, I Like the way You Move, and Rupaul's Drag Race UK and will excited how these programmes aired on the relaunched channel.

I wouldn’t expect Colin Weston or Kathy Secker style in-vision continuity though if that’s what you’re hoping for. :lol:

I'm reliably informed THREE's continuity will be more of this style of in vision announcing..."but now on the BBC Three...."

You know what, having thought about it, I actually think a retro style in-vision continuity announcer could genuinely work brilliantly on a channel like BBC Three if delivered in a post-modern, ironic sort of way - a bit like the E4 Patrick Allen or Absolute Radio Matt Berry voiceovers.

Yes, tonight is the last night of BBC Three on BBC One and the last night of BBC Three online only.

Imagine airs next Monday and there is Match of the Day to fill the slot on the Wednesday. Starstruck rpeeats air at 11pm though next week - I suspect we'll see repeat BBC3 programming but without the branding. Interestingly they've also a short form series called Cheaters which actually begins with an episode at 9.50pm, then two more episodes after the news. That's because "This is Going to Hurt", a new drama co-produced with AMC Studios, only runs to 50 minutes.

True. Looking at clips it seemed commonplace on ITV regions into the 80s. Bar kids tv, the only other examples I can think of is The Core (it was still aimed at teenagers though) from Channel 5, ITV2 in their first year or so, the period on Channel 4 where they had a camera in the continuity booth, T4 - which felt like a bigger production than just a locked off camera and similarly the forgotten Destination Three that I’ve got lurking around my mind - I have hazy memories of it airing during the late evening hours on BBC Three, aired around programmes and had guests and games, I think Rufus Hound was one of the presenters and it was on around 2005.

Destination Three was very much like T4, in that it was produced by Andi Peters, and very much an attempt to create something like T4 but late at night rather than on weekend mornings. It didn't last very long, Genome confirms it ran in February and March 2005 and that was it, but it did alright in terms of uncovering new talent as Hound, Justin Lee Collins and Anita Rani presented it.

Thanks Steve. I’m glad I’m not the only one who remembered it. It’s strange that there seem to be no clips online, though I suppose it ran for only a short period and was pre YouTube.

Virgin's still classed it as "Off-air" with their off air slide. Let's hope they get to see the full launch (or even part of the prelaunch)

Maybe this is just mismemory but I distinctly remember BBC Three HD (back in 2013-2014) broadcasting an animated slide of their "gets going at 7pm" on Sky when it wasn't broadcasting during the day.
