This series really could do with having Ken Jeong back on the panel.

Other than that though, does the panel really need freshing up? I guess it would be nice to switch out some panelists each week (or every so often, like what they've done later on in past series')

Ken was great in the first series but I don't miss him. What does annoy me is Jonathan clearly picked up that act once Ken left.

I haven’t seen any of clues for Firework either week and only have her bottom 2 performance today to go on, so the clues may lead in another direction. But I thought Firework might be Toyah Wilcox, as the singing voice sounded a bit like her and she had hair like her costume in the 80s.

However good Ken was, one of the problems with the show is the sort of people it attracts are likely ones that people from outside the likely don't know. So it's better to have someone who's UK based. While the celebrities we've seen on all three series so far are reasonably well known and recognised in the UK, I think it's fair to may many won't be known outside of the UK. I'm sure it would be nice to believe Ken knew who Patsy Palmer and Jason Manford were, but I doubt it! And if BM11's parents didn't know who Skin was
 Would be the same having a British panellist on the US version (even though ITV2 show the US version, probably at least half of the contestants are virtually unknown over here- looking at some of the names who've been revealed, they'd be as perplexing to Brits as Gloria Hunniford would be to Americans- though I guess we do see more of their TV and hear more of their music than they do of ours). |
