So it looks slightly psychic if you happen to have the website up while following the TV coverage, you see 15 all flash up on the site and they haven't even started a rally yet on the TV.

And the BBC sport website is even further behind

Watching Queens week before last, I compared the delay on the BBC Red Button with that on streaming Amazon Prime Video coverage of the same match and they were at exactly the same time, so looks like Amazon have got the streaming delay right down (this was on a Fire tablet) so no excuses for the BBC really.

On Today at Wimbledon being on too early, I wonder if they struggle to get as many guests on if they are on much later than 20:30-21:30.

We found ourselves watching Love Island on ITV 2. I'm not sure I dreamt what I saw !

Today at Wimbledon used to be on at 21.30 until the mid 2000’s. Then it moved to 20.00 and then 20.30 a few years ago.

As long as they never bring back Wimbledon 2Day...

Is Wimbledon a full BBC Sport production or handled by an outside company? I'm surprised they are still using Gotham for the scoreboard and haven't Reith'd it.

Since 2018 production has been moved in-house to Wimbledon Broadcast Services, though the BBC commentary is still the world feed.

There was something odd happening with the channels/court dance at 1.45pm. BBC1 HD on Freeview was about 30s behind the iPlayer Centre Court feed, which is the opposite of what you'd expect.

Up until the mid-nineties it was later than that, it used to be after ten o'clock on BBC1. Des Lynam did that for many years alongside Gerry Williams, and Des writes in his autobiography about going to Wimbledon in the noughties and someone saying to him "Looking forward to seeing you and Gerry on the telly tonight", even though he hadn't done that show for something like fifteen years at that point.

In 1995 there was a strange year when it was on BBC2 whenever the other regular programmes had finished, so it shuffled around between 9.45 and ten o'clock, and Newsnight was on after it.

In 1996 it went back to after ten o'clock on BBC1 but then in 1997 it moved to 9.30 on BBC2 where it stayed for many years. I always thought that was a bit strange as it meant BBC2 could only show an hour of other programmes, between 8.30 and 9.30. In 2004 they stripped the first ten heats of a series of Mastermind across the fortnight - https://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules/se...1#at-21.00
Then as you say, it was later appended onto the end of the live coverage, which gave a bit more flexibility, especially when highlights were going out of fashion a bit. That was also when they stopped repeating it the next morning under the banner of Yesterday at Wimbledon.

It might be less interesting than an R on a tennis ball but think the "Replay" graphic alongside the BBC Sport logo used on the red button looks far better.

Yes, but the BBC's own coverage/pres is still in house and separate to the Host Broadcaster operation (even if the Host Broadcaster is using the BBC commentary for the world feed)

NEP provide the facilities for the HB operation, Arena provide facilities for the BBC pres

Interesting there's custon name graphics for Today at Wimbledon highlights, a downgrade on the standard BBC Sport graphics I'd say.

Host broadcasters world feed no change at all and still Sue Therle as the out of vision presenter.

That world feed is the feed that is shown on the screen facing Henman Hill too
