Exactly this. So let's stop it shall we?
I'm on Andover Radio every Saturday afternoon from 4pm-6pm. Follow me on Twitter.
I see Danny Baker is playing with everyone on Twitter claiming he is the new host as of August alongside Susanna…
Then I saw his other tweets where he claims he is also doing GB news breakfast, team captain on question of sport and also hosting champions league coverage on ITV tomorrow ?

Unless we hear anything Official, Then I highly doubt he will be. Besides, Susanna is usually off in August.

My 2 bets for Piers' Replacement are either Adil Ray or Richard Madeley
Adil is back next week:

Adil already said he's filming the remaining episodes of Lingo in June so I guess Richard Madeley will be the week after.
Half term so he was probably already due to host anyway.

"Some news. @gmb have asked me to return via a third party (my agent)."

Seems a weird(ly specific) way to phrase it when a simple 'I'll be back on Good Morning Britain next week' would have done the job.

Not really significant, just strikes me as a touch unusual.

Maybe it's just me...!
"Good evening. Dull, grey, cold, miserable - and that's just me. The weather hasn't been great, either."

I think it was a tease of Piers’s comment that a third-party had contacted him about returning.
<t>Goodbye TVF. Hello TVLF.</t>

Ah! That would make a lot of sense - thanks for that!

I generally actively avoid reading about anything that Piers says and does, so this will be why the reference didn't click with me!

Appreciate you providing me with that additional context. *doffs cap*

Hilarious if he returns to GMB.
Adil is referring to this article in The Sun, which is an interview with Piers stating that he has been asked to come back by a third party.

In the interview Piers also reignites his fight with weatherman Alex Beresford, so things on that end will have to be smoothed over before he can return.
A host coming back to a show after quitting/being sacked has happened in other countries. The Today Show in Australia got rid of Karl Stefanovic in 2019 before bringing him back a year later as ratings had falling through the floor so while I'm doubtful that Piers will return, it can't be ruled out.
Different scenario though. He may well return one day, especially as it seems his other options aren't as plentiful as he might have thought, but he won't be his own replacement. Indeed if he did return it might even be the case that it's not until the successor to GMB launches. For now though the manner of his exit has made re-employing him, not just by ITV, a tricky prospect.

I do think he'd be a good option for a Sunday morning political show to rival Marr if ITV were willing to go there again, especially whilst they still have Peston midweek.

In a way, Piers does need his ego popped a little and some time away from TV and social media would do him the world of good.

I still think he'll probably get some TV or radio work within the next few months aside from Life Stories, don't think ITV would want 2 political shows, one is enough.
Piers mentioned a drop in viewing figures, but have they really fallen that much since his departure?
