Ackley Bridge is back for a fifth series - airing from Monday 11th till Friday 15th July at 10pm & 10:30pm (with Friday is in the 11pm hour instead). The whole series will be on All4 after Monday.

Odd strategy? Not sure what they're trying to achieve with that.

Last series aired across a fortnight at 6pm.

Which displaced The Simpsons. Maybe it didn't rate as well as that does?

If T4 was still a thing and Ackley Bridge was on the block it would most likely be heavily edited due to being on post-watershed.

You've missed the point completely.  Ackley Bridge isn't a post-watershed show.

Big Pride Party kind of reminds me of TFI Friday but with a gay-theme- could see this getting a full series- there’s a gap in the market for an LGBT themed chat/variety show on terrestrial TV. Similarly I thought it was reminiscent of the live stages in the glory era of BGMT though that might just be the colours used for the set?

Wasn’t it meant to get a series in March? After the original planned special around New Year, that never happened due to Covid? I thought it was a bit dull really, which was surprising. But there is a good show in there somewhere.

I assume it was from somewhere around the Custard  Factory in Birmingham? It was also seems to have been produced by Joe Lycett’s own production company.

I’m not sure- I didn’t catch what the production company credited was.

This was a rehash of the show planned for Christmas but was cancelled due to production members going down with Covid.

The show was filmed in The Compound studio in the Jewellery Quarter, not the Custard Factory.

I liked it as a special and think there is something good within it. Also liked the element of it being broadcast in Birmingham and therefore adding the regional element to it, which was something Joe was keen to have.

I thought it was a great show, but a bit stretched at two hours long, it could have lost a half hour, and would have been better at 90 minutes.

Loved seeing the Heartstopper cast on the show. I have never known a drama like this which has been universally praised.

Also, loved seeing the clip of Joe and Sebastian from the show, at the pride march in London, giving the finger to protesters

I think there was an interview somewhere before the last series (with the set redesign) saying that they've realised it actually works better for having a conversation because they're all facing each other, instead of sitting in a line...

Can't remember where I saw/heard/read that now though!
