The Countdown Thread
Although surely if it was the series finals that were the issue it was more than "several episodes" in the problem was discovered?

Doesn't seem to be anything from that series online, and certainly nothing in anything other than the familar blue tiles. Indeed they came in earlier than I thought - 1987, replacing the yellow on white.

Looks like Colin's got himself a comically large green button, presumably to start the clock. I think Jimmy uses it in the newer episodes Catsdown.
Back to the good old "teatime teaser", Anne always just called it a "teaser"!

Anne did refer to it as a teatime teaser during some of her early episodes, but I much prefer it as just a teaser! 2pm in the afternoon is not tea time! When countdown was on at 4:15-5:00 that was a true 'teatime' teaser!

As for Colin, good grief, the show is now truly dull as dishwater without Anne and her little 'poking the bear' questions and quips with the contestants.

I've watched every Anne episode but from today Countdown is a instant turn off. Once Neighbours finishes in a fortnight I'm done with daytime TV, nothing to watch anymore.

Bit of a dig at Anne at the start I think, “there are only two stars of Countdown, the letters and the numbers”.

Who’s having their evening meal before 5pm? They surely mean tea as in the beverage, as that’s what people are said to make during a commercial break,  rather than an evening meal.
Colin's ok. Better than Anne of course. But just a bit dull.
I'm glad it's only temporary, though I am concerned with a lack of a proper announcement of the new full-time presenter whether they might just keep Colin on for the long run.
You can tell he likes the show.

I'm sure the broadcasters will miss you...  Rolleyes

They're surely keeping their options open. If there is a massive decline after a few months, they can always replace him. If things stay the same it'll be a mo brainier to keep him.

Exactly as I feel and perfectly summed up. His blue jumper today blended in with the blue background just says it all....just so dull and boring, and as for all the sly digs the 3 of them have about Anne, seriously childish and cringy!

Well I am the target audience for stair lifts, cruise Holidays and funeral plans which you are bombarded with during Countdown, so yes the advertisers will miss someone like me!!

Nick Hewer was dull and lasted nearly a decade. Colin will be just fine and will grow into the role nicely.

Just thankful Anne is gone.

Rachel was also wearing blue #BringBackCarol
Watching now and everyone on screen is noticeably much more relaxed, making it a more relaxing watch for the viewer too.

Rachel seemed somewhat delighted.

It's the same Button that was used when Nick was in charge, However, it couldn't be seen because it was positioned to his Left as he was Left Handed

Totally agree with this
