It's quite a rambling 'speech'. You'd need a roadmap to figure out where he's going.
There's a good chance that Johnson's presser will be long over by the time Putin gets to anything substantive.

I know taking RT off air in the UK plays right into Russia's hands, but surely Ofcom can't ignore the fact that it is not providing factual news?:

Good question. It's been broadcasting some pretty wild stuff this evening, including "Kiev bombing" Donetsk and "killing thousands of people", and correspondents claiming "shells are landing all the time" but strangely failing to capture the sound of these "constant explosions" on tape

I saw a few minutes of a weekend commentary programme last weekend and it was wild in terms of misinformation.

It's a tricky one and misinformation on RT is nothing new but obviously at times like this it's a propaganda war at the moment and as they say the first casualty is the truth. I know Germany recently banned a German version of the channel so Russia retaliated against DW. Of course too we had the BBC journalist who suddenly found herself kicked out of Russia a few months back - I assue that wasn't resolved.

BBC's editorial choices have been quite poor this evening. They seemed to be a few hours behind reality - the News at Ten not only didn't lead with it, but what did they cover was already about two hours out of date - little mention of Putin's revanchist rant or the troop movements. Also feel that today would have been a good day for the NC to take WNA instead of the Ten - which was clearly prioritising domestic Covid stories over the developing international story.

Also feel that today would have been a good day for the NC to take WNA instead of the Ten - which was clearly prioritising domestic Covid stories over the developing international story.

Indeed the BBC News At 10 has been quite widely criticised for its coverage of the story and how it took 20 minutes to actually get to the story. The BBC really don't help themselves sometimes - see going all out with the Djokovic interview a week or two back.

I get the impression there’s much more to come on Ukraine tomorrow (if we’ve not all been nuked by then) so for once I’m fine with them leading with this story which is going to effect us lots in the short term.
