Goodnight TVF

That was dramatic. And sad. And panic inducing; I was replying to a couple of posts and thought the blurring was happening in my eyes until I finally clocked the countdown clock. Fitting end, moving. I was moved. Grateful to Rob for providing somewhere to go. Hello, good to see you.

Now we watch as the colour Orange takes over and everyone unpacks. I've even got a game. Guess how many big threads are gonna make the jump from TV Forum to TV Live Forum.

I decided to do one last look - to see what has happened over the last two days - and then the countdown started and then bam it was gone. As I kept saying (in anticipation of it being my final post over there), many thanks to Mr. Hicks for many years of service and now cannot wait to read back through the big database of discussions to reference on here.

Here's a link to the video before it was roughed-up by Twitter: https://theident.gallery/misc/misc/tvfclose.mp4

It's a force of habit for me to type "tvf" and then go onto the forum. Will be a habit hard to break!

Obviously I knew it was coming, but it just doesn't feel real.

Goodnight TV Forum, and Godspeed.

Looks like there were a few more posts in the goodbye thread that I missed, and won't be able to read until the read-only site launches.

What a perfect way for TVF to bow out... Raising a glass here to wonderful 20 years...

Did the countdown thing everyone was talking about actually happen? I wasn't there to witness the final moments - I'm a late person Smile

I was kind of expecting it to close at midnight, but at about 22:06 I logged on and it was gone.

The only thing that came out of my mouth was "Well that was unexpected".

Too true, I was doing one last hurrah. But anyhoo. Also in relation to unpacking in here I've taken over part of the attic and will be vocal only when it is needed.

I’ve only just seen the message. Well, that’s it then. Now consigned to the history books.

After spending practically half my life on the forum, I can’t believe I missed the countdown.

The holding screen that is there now, with the Redvers Kyle announcement is a nice touch, I might have known Asa would have something up his sleeve for the end.

Imagine if something that happened about half an hour ago (TV Forum close) was already in the history books. If that has actually happened, must have been a very boring day for the world.

I totally thought that TVF would close at midnight ?

Literally was just about to go on TVF but the closed page came up
