Jim Acosta will be starting his Newsroom weekend shows from this Saturday at 3pm ET. 8pm UK

There's also a few changes to the CNNi schedule from next Monday which I don't know is temporary. (I think the probably are based on that they are I think work around the trial of Derek Chauvin) But here it is in UK time.

11am-12:30pm: New Day simulcast
12:30pm-1pm: World Sport
1pm-2pm: Connect The World
2pm-3pm: First Move
3pm-3:30pm: Connect The World
3:30pm-6pm: Newsroom Simulcast
6pm-7pm: Quest Means Business
7pm-8pm: Amanpour
8pm onwards: US Simulcast

Indeed the schedule for Monday-Wednesday has no Amanpour although it's listed for 11pm UK time on Thursday and Friday, cutting away an hour of The Situation Room.

After watching CNNI for a year, I have a question:
Why CNNI struggles so much with its logo, clock, and lower part (flipper) graphics?
It is especially glaring when CNNI is hosting CNN USA (or comes back from a simulcast) - logo jumps around the screen, clock gets plastered on top of it.
Flipper doesn't really cover the name of the programme on the bottom right - a small portion can still be seen behind it. And logo is not perfectly aligned with their Live bug.
What exactly happens on CNNI side during switchover from CNNI to CNN that it cases those issues?

If we only knew... there were several months last year when CNNI was picking up the direct CNN US feed and that worked fine, but they changed it to now-unbearable-to-watch.

With Jim Acosta moving the mid-afternoon Saturday block to DC this is the first time in 8 years that no Saturday programming originates from NY, and even longer if you include the business shows that used air throughout the day.

I watched Acosta’s hours and found them abysmal. He’s not got what it takes to anchor his own hours. We was the most prolific Chief White House Correspondent but the jump to anchor won’t do him any favors

Whether they’ve handed him a poor bunch of producers or he’s just not got it, I found it a boring few hours. Naturally I’ll watch again and see if things change but when it was first announced I was a bit shocked.

Get some more stories from Middle America, show some highlights of what's going on outside your borders. There's a whole America out there CNN, let alone the world.

And that wasn't even a particularly golden era necessarily. It looks like that was from around 2009-10 when the change to 'appointment to view' programmes took place. That was when the channel began to take a turn - weekends features less and less live news, content and presentation got weaker and some of their best presenters like Jim Clancy, Anjali Rao, Fionnuala Sweeney & Ralitsa Vassileva were sidelined.

However, you definetely feel much more love went into the channel back then than it has in recent years - a shame as most of the presenters & reporters are of a high standard and when CNNI does air its own output it is still pretty good. The two channels used to feel on a much more even footing whereas these days CNNI seems to take any opportunity to air Domestic.

I'd say that's a criticism of much of CNN ouput both Domestic and International - I'd struggle to tell you what's actually different between AC360, Outfront and your average Newsroom. All seem to have pretty similar stories presented in the same sort of way with similar talking heads. Maybe it's rose tinted glasses but the shows used to seem more distinctive while still effectively covering the main stories

And while I like the presentation of some of the CNNI programmes I'd too struggle to tell you what's so different between Hala's show (if it returns), Connect The World and your average CNNI Newsroom programme.

That's the same generally across the board with news channels. They tend to follow a list of stories through the day. Even if you watched the next BBC World News bulletin, and then came back in about 3-4 hours time, the stories will be the same just a bit updated. The good thing about that approach is you can flick it on at anytime and get a full wrap of the stories they are running.

I guess that's one thing the current mix of CNN US and CNNI gives us is we can tune in for international news during the CNNI blocks, and then get a domestic take on the news during New Day or the US Newsroom. But if that's the model they are following from now on I really think they need to change the names of the shows. Eg call the CNNI Newsroom blocks "World Newsdesk" or something (not that name, that's a terrible name, but you get where I'm going with it!) so people can identify that it's a block of global news.
