And before that, BBC 2 reused several old idents dating from the '50's to the 2000's for their Afternoon Classics stuff:

What other times did TV networks fish out old idents and logos to promote something?
Channel 4 have been bring back 1982 ident for several times....
One of them was when Channel 4 ware celebrating 25 years:

And they've used it a LOT in the last couple of years (World Alzheimer's Day, that one episode of Bake-Off, the brief Martin Lambie-Nairn tribiute, and as mentioned earlier, It's A Sin.) All using the same ident with the same rendition of Fourscore (although they DID update the ident for It's A Sin).

I think my favorite time Channel 4 put out their old 80's ident would probably be this one for 3D week:

It feels good to add in something new to the old sometimes.

The other day Anglia News were showing clips of Prince Philip from their Survival series and we briefly got a glimpse of a Anglia Colour Production end slide.

Channel 4 had Peter Kay presenting in vision for its 'Peter Kay Night' in 2011.

How about Look Around You series 1 using a very good mock of the ITV Schools clock - another channel's pres!

I have noticed that - I wonder if it's to do with the 16:9 aspect ratio - ie it's the only one of the '82 idents (bar the special Sumo and American Football ones) where the blocks didn't go off the edge of screen (which may look a bit weird with a black background and black pillarboxes), so they can just play the original 4:3 footage without having to remake it to fit a 16:9 image. Not sure on the use of the same rendition of Fourscore (which is the one I like least).

And of course Look Around You 2 using the orange stripey BBC 2 ident.

Yes I thought that had already been mentioned in this thread but apparently not.

I’d never seen this before today. It’s brilliant - a perfectly observed regional ITV style closedown (albeit on Channel 4). Peter Kay is clearly one of us when it comes to TV presentation.

Back then Analogue TV switched off in Northern Ireland, the last time analogue viewers saw was the 1979 electronic ident.

Meanwhile on BBC1 NI, a lovely recreation of the 1981 globe using the original model and many of their idents in the background from the COW globe to the second set of skateboarders.

Forget just bringing back old idents, one time BBC 2 bought back some old 2 shaped props (or made reasonable facsimiles) for their 50th to go along with their reused 90's idents
