It's very easy for some to roll their eyes when reality stars are idolised for being entertaining, but THIS...

...is the performance of an entertainer, not your average reality star.

Unfortunately feared this was coming ever since Rylan admitted that she needed support. R.I.P

I hope Nikki's legacy is that sufferers of eating disorders get the help they need on the NHS. It's a minefield to get help without having to pay to go private.

Watching this clip and similar ones really brings a smile to my face on a day when I’ve been feeling very subdued (for various reasons). Nikki made so many people laugh and smile.

I remember watching the series as a teenager, sad to hear the news I didn't think it was as serious as that.

Worth mentioning that Anorexia has the highest rate of mortality of ANY mental illness.

This death will hopefully make more people aware of it and how serious it can be.

Horrible news.

I think she was probably the most memorable star of the show for me.

I know everyone’s said it. But it is simply awful.

Horrific news, I knew she had herr struggles but the full details that I've read is heartbreaking - RIP.

Really tragic news. In my opinion she was THE single most iconic Big Brother housemate ever. So warm and authentic - even quite vulnerable at times which was how the British public grew to love her. A true character.

Awful news. BB7 was definitely my favourite series of Big Brother and I think Nikki was one of the best contestants. I think iconic is the best word to sun her up. R.I.P.

Awful news. This video is heartbreaking.

(I noticed when the crowdfunder was posted on TVF that Vanessa was the highest donor, which in light of this video is lovely, I think.)

I can’t help wonder if the series had taken place today, would she (or any other housemate we have seen) actually still make it through the selection process. It is evident a portion of the housemates had issues and the experience of BB didn’t always leave a good legacy on them.

I've never watched Big Brother as I feel its a cruel and exploitative programme. But I had heard of Nikki and her death at such a horribly young age and from an awful condition must be a real hammer blow to her friends and family. I echo those posters who have said that hopefully this tragedy will lead to anorexics getting the help they need,

But on the flip side entering the house was clearly her dream and clearly her life and denying her due to her condition is not only discrimination, it may been as damaging as what they were trying to protect her from. And to be fair I don't think Nikki has ever been anything other than positive about her experience.
