As funny as it sounds, BBC2's idents from the early 90's used to scare me as a toddler, probably due to the ominous music (thanks Martin Lambie-Nairn
), that's probably the first time TV presentation struck a chord with me. The idents were brilliant though.
I'm just about old enough to remember ITV with regional identity, I remember the Central cake up until Carlton took over, living in the Central region was such a privilege in terms of presentation. Although I must've been very young, I can remember seeing Central's HQ on Broad Street in Birmingham. I liked the Carlton Star idents too. By the time I was 13, all regional identification was gone. I also remember Granada, Meridian, Westcountry, Anglia and probably even HTV when I went on holiday in different parts of the country, visited Granada Studios too.
