The generic end boards don't help - baffles me how with a design based around the centre you left align the programme text on a fairly none discript background. Thankfully most use the programme logo centred instead.
Agree in this design the identifier feels unnecessarily clunky. Doesn't help the channels don't have their own symbol as I think the BBC transitioning to a 1 and then to the play symbol would feel more cohesive.
Perhaps promoting iPlayer first then it transitioning back to the blocks for the channel endcap would work better.
