Olympic Breakfast was certainly on BBC1 with I think headlines and local news every half hour. Not sure if BBC2 sometimes had alternative uninterrupted coverage, something the new deal will not allow.
The schedule works out pretty well for Breakfast. Diving most days at 6am which they could probably get the news in before and after within the hour. Other medal sports in the first week are sports like archery, judo and xanoe slalom where they can dip in as required. In week two the track cycling lands in the slot which although at first seems an awkward clash will probably work OK as they can schedule around the key events.
Just unfortunate this time they can't offer uninterrupted coverage of events Breakfast would be dipping in and out of as with just one extra stream it will be best to focus on something Breakfast isn't covering.
