Pleasantly surprised by this.
Compare this to the promos in 'the Piers era' and it was all about how fiery and combative the show is, trying to make out that Piers shouting at everyone was compelling and unmissable viewing. I can do without that.
Instead of 'we shout and whip things up so come and watch the tabloid slanging match every morning', this promo says 'we're a team, we're working hard to bring you the information you want to know from around the world, join us as we guide you through it all'. Much prefer this sort of positive messaging; it's so much more appropriate for a morning news programme.
Let's hope this is a sign of things to come - moving away from the brash, bombastic "we need to be noticed at any opportunity no matter for good or bad reasons" style, and a shift to providing something that is actually worth watching and informative to the viewer.
Nice promo, shame there’s no Charlotte in it though considering she is the main newsreader and the main face of 6am slot...
However it is nice to see the correspondents appearing, Richard Gaisford, Nick Dixon and Jonathan Swain have been familiar faces on ITV/GMTV for years.
