For those who are asking if there is going to be an actual audience, I received the following in my inbox yesterday. it looks like to be a full audience if they are making sure people are fully jabbed or can test negative etc. As I am Birmingham based i don't think I'll go to London just for this, as have to get to work etc

BBC Question Time – Afghanistan Live Special

You have in the past applied to participate in the studio audience of BBC Question Time. If you are still keen to take part, have not been on the programme in the last 10 years and would like to be considered for the above special Question Time in Harrow tomorrow evening please either call me on (number redacted) or reply with you name and telephone number and I will endeavour to call you.

This is open to anyone over the age of 16 years and willing to put forward questions on the situation in Afghanistan. We expect to be oversubscribed so please be aware this email does not guarantee a place in the live audience.

Anyone selected must either do a lateral flow test, show proof of vaccination, or proof of immunity based upon a positive PCR test taken with 180 days of the event.

This is quite an interesting email - 10 years seems quite a long time to keep personal information for members of a studio audience. As I understand it, GDPR doesn’t specify actual periods of time for retention of personal information, but - by way of an example - employers only keep employee records for 10 years if they’ve been involved in an accident. These audience members also ought to have given permission for their records to be kept on file for a decade.

Where does it say they keep your information for 10 years? I expect they're just hoping people will be honest and not apply if they've been on it in the last 10 years.
