Good Morning Britain has been averaging in the ballpark of about 600k -700k (about 18 - 21% share) in recent weeks, including this last week with Bill Turnbull, whereas it was averaging anything between 700k to above 900k (roughly 23 - 30% share) when Morgan was there. Worth pointing out that it was only creeping above 1m when the Harry and Meghan stuff was exploding, and the only day it beat BBC Breakfast (by 40k and 3% share) was the day Morgan walked off set - so him making out that the show was beating BBC Breakfast on his watch is rather disingenuous. He helped it to narrow the gap, but that is pretty much it.
Otherwise, it's been business as usual with BBC Breakfast comfortably ahead in the average figures of around 1.3 - 1.5m and shares very often above 40%.
Who knows though? At this rate, itv will probably allow Morgan to return and hype it up to the point that we could truly see the end of BBC Breakfast's dominance.
