Joking aside, it does work - at least a few days in a week something regarding GMB will be trending on Twitter - I think flag-gate was the last time something related to BBC breakfast was trending, and that, it seems, has higher viewers than GMB since Piers left, and before the pandemic.
Actually, the only day Good Morning Britain has ever beaten BBC Breakfast in the overnight average ratings since it began 7 years ago was the day following the Harry and Meghan interview, when Piers Morgan stormed off the set. BBC Breakfast has always out-rated Good Morning Britain otherwise, even if the gap closed between them in the latter stages of Piers Morgan's time on the latter.
