The lack of nuance one thing I particularly hate about "cancel culture". There's a world of difference between a parody/caricature of an individual and the stereotype characters of Come Fly with Me.

Jan Ravens once got a bit of stick when she appeared once on This Week and did an absolutely spot on impression of Diane Abbott without doing anything to look like her. But then again, I'm sure there were plenty of white people impersonating Obama during his presidency.

It's a tough one. For a show like Dead Ringers, you expect them to look like the people they impersonate (at least on the TV version) but you wouldn't expect anyone to use blackface for a person of colour. Then why not hire an impressionist of colour? Well you could argue that telling a black performer they can only do "black people jobs" sounds a little troublesome.
