It's being widely reported tonight that Richard Madeley is possibly going to get the role, with a stint in June to be treated as a trial run which could be extended.

Again, I can't imagine Richard Madeley replacing Piers permanently GMB goes back to the April 2014 Format where they have 4 hosts or unless Ben decides to leave GMB.

To put it into perspective the Main Hosts team will look like this:
Richard Madeley - White
Susanna Reid - White
Ben Shephard - White
Kate Garraway - White.

Not a single BAME person will be on the main presenting team.

So should they parachute someone - who clearly isn't right for the role - in, just to tick some diversity boxes? Or would it be wiser to simply hire the best presenter at the time?

I think that in a day and age of diversity and equality, there's no reason why they shouldn't do both

I’m all for people posting what they want but I’d forgotten quite how tedious GMB chat and in particular GMB rota chat is.
Especially the ‘who’s in what chair’ type discussions.

Regardless of whom replaces Piers Morgan, I'm looking forward to seeing other guest presenter over the coming months. We've already seen Ben Shephard and Adil Ray in action for March and April respectively. I think once we get to August, we MAY know a definite replacement for Piers Morgan. Until then, I would rather focus on the presentation of the show, which hasn't been exactly up to scratch, but still watchable under the circumstances.

Not wishing to drift too far off topic in another direction but why is this being described as "The Latest"? It's borderline "This Morning/Loose Women have ran out of ideas". I didn't watch yesterday's programme but couldn't they fill the final 20/30 minutes?

These type of debates don’t work without Piers getting worked up about them. None of the others can really do it without it sounding forced. Regardless of what his viewpoint was, he at least had the knack for making a debate entertaining.

Where do they get these ridiculous questions from? Some of the stuff they set up polls for on Twitter in particular just beggar belief.

It's the sort of thing I could imagine being part of an Alistair McGowan Richard & Judy sketch twenty years ago.

I missed the post-Oscars special this morning, although I can't see how they could have made it work with none of the usual after-parties taking place this year.

Did they do much on the Oscars? When I switched on, it was a lengthy panel discussion about the Prime Minister's flat refurbishment, so it felt like business as usual.

As far as I saw this morning there wasn't any special treatment. They had "The Oscars" label in the bottom third but apart from that, it was mainly treated as another main story. Although I didn't tune in until about half 7, so they may have discussed it in more detail earlier.

Im surprised that they did a normal episode Today (At least it looked a normal GMB from the clips I've seen) instead of a Special one thats completely dedicated to the Oscars. Weird In My Opinion
