The one-hour recording was made when Terry visited Brighton for a live broadcast of his Breakfast Show and, whilst there, gave an interview to a local BBC reporter.

The unlabelled tape sat untouched for decades in a dusty vault at BBC Southampton Broadcasting House and has never been broadcast before… until it was discovered by BBC producer Richard Latto who was amazed at the material he found.

Picture quality looks far too high to be a telerecording.

I think BBC South would have been financially strained to stretch to more than one oscilloscope yet alone a film recording system.

They had a lovely club bar though, we would often pop down at lunchtime - just to discuss engineering points of mutual interest you understand.

It certainly looks like the backdrop from that era, and is properly and well lit, so I'd say it was the Southampton studio. Mr Wogan also had a different shirt on than at the radio OB.

All that said, it was (still is) one hell of a drive from Brighton to Southampton!
