Surely the whole point of BBC3 returning is to offer an alternative to BBC1/2 programming, not to replicate it, but they're doing Young Masterchef for under 25s. Sounds as awful as when BBC1 repurposed Don't Tell the Bride for their audience.

Going to be a lot of Masterchef on the channel then, as they are showing the Australian version in the weekday 7pm slot from next Monday. It runs for 61 episodes....

The BBC would probably argue that Masterchef Australia even though it is nearly four years old fits BBC3's remit because people in their early 30s can enjoy it, but to me it just looks like it's being brought in to shore up the schedules and in the hope that those who watch the UK version will fancy watching it. If that happens then the spin will be the BBC3 channel was worth bringing back, which will no doubt be the case with the African Nations Cup and the Winter Olympics. BBC3 being some sort of overflow car park for programming that can't (daren't) be shown on the two main channels on top of the amount of repeats and stuff that isn't age specific is a disgrace.

Sorry my mistake. Series 11 is currently getting a 6am repeat run on W, that’s how I got muddled as I looked for it on their schedule earlier in the week.

I'm sure they'll come. They could do with giving their celeb led efforts from the last year or two a regular slot. Indeed at the moment there is no rhyme or rhythm to how the channel is being scheduled - hopefully with time it'll be clearer what sort of shows to expect on given nights or in given slots.
