Edit: Piers has since admitted that it was an April Fool's joke in a video in which (a) he claims he "caught some pretty big fish" with the claims he'd be returning to GMB (which I cannot imagine to be the case since every comment I saw under his original tweet was to say "ha, okay, April Fool"), and (b) in which he desperately plugs his book and complains about being a victim of 'cancel culture' for 45 seconds (which is the reason I haven't bothered linking the video itself).

Agreed on this - you can see the stage door which was right next to where the sofa area was just at the right of a picture, showing just how much of the set they used. IIRC they also put 'set walls' around the whole thing, even behind the cameramen.

It was a brilliant set design adding in the entrances as set features was a clever move. The launch shows used it very well, with the one on one interviews at the solo screen area and the sofa used for celebrity interviews later on, plus the launch desk was beautiful.

Something I didn’t understand with the GMB set or the GMTV ones from studio 5, what was in the corner of the studio, in the GMB set it’s the corner behind the weather screen and GMTV it was the corner behind the Lorraine set to the right of the performance area as you look at it.

GMB consists of a large team of presenters who all work together in various combinations - (this morning being a good example with the rarely-seen Charlotte/Ranvir pairing).

The wider presenting team includes Adil Ray, Ranvir Singh, Alex Beresford, and Sean Fletcher, all of whom show up in the studio regularly (and includes Noel Phillips as their North America correspondent and Andi Peters as their Deputy Win This Swanky New Car Correspondent if you want to widen it out from studio-based staff).

You might be talking about the wider presenting team but I'm only talking about the Main Presenting team who normally occupy the main 2 seats, Which in the Piers era was Piers, Susanna, Ben and Kate on a normal week (Non-Half Term weeks)

Currently, There's no one on the main presenting team (Piers [Until 3 weeks ago)Susanna, Ben, Kate) who is a Person of Colour

Seems weirdly blasé. Amounts to "ha, we all know one day you'll do something entirely unconscionable but let's just keep having fun until we have to inevitably sack you."

Is this really how they hire and fire at ITV or is Saint Piers just held to completely different standards to anyone else, as seems to be the case?!

With a lot of the next four months being taken up by filming Tipping Point in Bristol, it's very likely that we'll see less of Ben on Good Morning Britain (who'll be "getting back into the studio to do GMB when [he] can"), which will be interesting as since Piers' departure, Ben's been stepping up to present more often to fill the gap. I expect we'll see some weird and wonderful combinations of presenters over the coming months as a lack of Ben and Easter/summer holidays coincide.

Good to see more of the likes of Richard Gaisford this week, who I think did a great job in the 6am presenter/newsreader role, having only done so a handful of times previously.

I can see Alex Beresford and Adil Ray stepping in more often during the next four months to look after Ben Shephard's place while he's doing Tipping Point for ITV. As for who will replace Piers Morgan? I would get a fresh face, someone that nobody knows.
