I thought they might have tried a few more different names out by now. With the exception of Alastair Campbell, it’s just been Adil and now seemingly Richard. Suggests to me they either know who they want for GMB or are perhaps happy for September to roll in with guest presenters.
I’m hoping over summer a few unfamiliar faces may crop up, even just as nothing more than a stand in/guest host. I personally wouldn't be surprised if they don't replace Piers with one person in particular and instead, Split the Monday-Wednesday Main Host role between Adil, Alastair and Richard (Madeley). Ben would remain on Thursday and Friday (with Sean and Alex filling in for Ben during Holidays and Tipping Point)
Is there any chance that Piers will make a comeback? I see lots of people commenting on social media that they want his return. He was obviously very important to the show.

I do not see ITV management ever asking Piers to come back, as it would mean they had to admit defeat, and acknowledge he was the key anchor to that show, something ITV management would not want to publicly say, as they want viewers to feel the programme is bigger than any host. So no, in my own personal opinion, I do not see Piers coming back as host. Piers would probably not want to return there, as he may feel he was treated badly by his former employer. You never know, he could come back as a a guest contributor.
Yeah, you are probably right. If ITV asked him to return, Piers would be able to ask for everything he ever wanted.
Not being British, I primarily follow GMB from its YouTube channel. His dynamic with Susanna was truly gold.

He was good. And he's better at asking questions than Susanna - hers are so slow, long and drawn out, always with a lot of 'umming' and 'erring' too. (Schofield also has this annoying tendency.)
Campbell would have been better placed with a different co-host. IMO, Reid isn't as great an anchor as ITV seem to think she is.

I laughed out loud when I read a story once in Jeremy Vine's autobiography.
Vine recounts when he shouted a long and rambling question at Tony Blair at an event where Blair was appearing.
Campbell grabbed Vine to shut him up, saying; 'Tony's come here today to give a speech, not f***ing listen to one !'

I have met Alastair Campbell, and the strange thing is when you meet him face to face, and speak with him, all your pre judgements of the man slowly fade away, which is a mark of the man's PR skills. When he is speaking with you face to face, he is a great manipulator, he ensures he comes across as friendly, warm and open, which he will try to use on GMB.

Yeah I've seen many interviews between him and Piers and I thought that he would be like Piers but when I saw him on GMB all my judgements on him changed. Maybe it was just Piers who made him feel that way

Absolutely not. Piers very loudly doubted claims of poor mental health and racism and was asked by ITV to apologise for that. He refused so they parted company. Since then he has only gone on to double down on such rants.

The trouble with Alastair Campbell is however good he is he will forever be strongly linked with Labour, which I think is tricky should they give him a permanent role, especially in election periods. Maybe Boris could alternate with him.
